Spotted these in an antique centre today - somewhat "overpriced" IMHO......must be the chrome plating

Cheers

Ouch!

That is expensive. A decent chrome or nickel plated WW2 Mills should be about £130 GBP. The gas check plates - maybe £25-£30 GBP each. That's in the UK of course.

A basic WWII surface rusted but could still see some original paint M36, missing its pull ring went for $400.00 AU at auction last Monday! Auction in Adelaide, South Australia.

Recently, in the Bolsover Antiques centre I saw a well pitted 1916 Mills No 5, for £195. The sort that would sell for £50 at a militaria fair.

I once saw a nickel plated modern 7.62 Nato inert round in an antique shop. This was being sold as a "WW1 trench art silver plated bullet" with a price tag of £25.
