Can anyone point me in the right direction as to the designation of this fuze, age and what projectile it would fit. I am assuming it is complete but the threads are so far from the underside of the top it has got me wondering.
That's fine. So is the insert in the shell diagram an adaptor, and does the fuze screw into that adaptor? I've seen many French/Schneider shells but not one that this fuze would fit. Is the shell an uncommon model?
It's not only an adaptor but a gaine for exploder (25grams of picric acid). The fuze is screwed into this gaine (nomenclature of the gaine : 47.5/55mm Modle 1915)
This shell with this fuze is not very common but we find sometimes unexploded rounds and remnants of fuze on WW1 battlefields.
