French EOD Nostalgia (1945)

These are pictures taken in France, 1945 showing civilian clearance personel. The life expectancy wasn't very high so why matter and giving them an official eod status and equipment.
If you watch the second photo very close you can see a cigarette hanging on his lower lip :dry: The amount and diversity of the ordnance was enormous and the technical knowledge was allmost none. All eod or clearance personnel were trained in the UK in one week.. all they took back were handwritten notes from the one week course. There was allmost no time to educate them propperly!
Later on they received some US Technical manuals (in English of course) and some advisors to train them on the spot. The last pic proves that they did not get them all.. (the remnants of war that is)
