French national archives (new additions)

Jules Breton was not only a photograph collector but above all the official in charge, from 1916 onwards, of the development of new technologies at the French War Ministry. His involvement was decisive in the development and adoption of French tanks (Schneider, Renault, St Chamond). Another part of his collection is available at the archive of the French defense Ministry here:

Some of the photographs in the Breton's collection come from the "Albums Valois", a gigantesque WW1 photographic collection also in line:

in the Albums Valois they generally appear in better resolutions and more details about the materiel shown on teh photographs.
