German 10,5 cm K18 HE round ...or is it?

I recently purchased this quite nicely made cutaway from a 10,5 cm HE round. The guy that sold it to me said it was a round for the German K18 field howitzer, so i ended up searching for a case to make the round complete.

However, i stumbled upon pictures of a cutaway 10,5 cm flak that looked really similar to the one i have. I hope one of the experts on here can tell me what kind of round this is?

Should be a 10cm Gr 19 with either an AZ23v or Doppl Z S/60, the K18 spreng conform D435, anlage 13 and should have a boot tail. Maybe later variants of the d435 shows other shells.

Not sure about the shell, but it´s far away from a 10 cm Gr.19.

I have No documentation on this shell, but it is said to be a HEI shrapnel for the 10,5 cm Flak 38.

It is indeed an interesting projectile.
The adapter under the fuze looks like a cut of the one on the F.H.Gr 38 Kh (please see attached pic).
I wonder what is the thread size between the Kammerhülse and the fuze adapter for the kl AZ 23 Nb. Possibly 50x3?

There were ÜbW and ÜbR projectiles for the flak with screwed projectile base.
Does anyone have documentation on a Przugs or BoPr variant of ÜbW or ÜbR?

Yes you are right Nabob. It does look alot like that adapter on the picture, it is a different round though, since it doesn't have a tapered bottom.

The thread size is around 50 x 2,5.

Did the 10,5 flak have the AZ 23 fitted, or the AZ 23/28? I would think it would have had the 23/28, since it's a high velocity gun? please correct me if i'm wrong

Yes, the correct PD fuze would be AZ 23/28 or 23/28 Pr.
Your AZ 23 was manufactured in 1927 so I am quite sure that it was taken from somewhere else.

Ah okay thanks. So it is a 10,5 flak shell but with the wrong kind of fuze. looks like i'm gonna have to find a cutaway model of a 23/28 aswel then

About 10 years ago these 10,5 shells were offered for sale along with some 8,8 cm shells of similar construction.The 8,8 shell as shown below has a similar fuze adapter. Looks like a core of( incendiary?) pellets surrounded by HE filler?. It is a strange construction,the shell has no expelling charge, so to free the pellets the shell body had tobe blown up.
This shell with case were offered for sale on egun.de in 2012.
