We always thought this was a US 175mm, But Subs set us straight, I was wondering if anybody had any info on this, time peirod, Gun that fired it and the fuze it used, and is the silver round a practice or drilling
There has been some discussion on this site or the WK2Ammo site already. I will see if I can find it. The fuze is internal with a pushrod towards the nose.
The 17 cm as far as i can see it on the picture is a HE with Cap, mostly used by the German Navy, i cannot see it clear but i should have 2 driving bands, the grey color is not original, they should be yellow, or Green because they have also used this cannon as a railroad cannon, the German have used also WW1 projectiles.
