German stick grenade ID

I have what is presumably a German stick grenade and I'm wondering if anyone can provide any info about it. It is approximately 35 cm/14 in long and is made of a single piece of wood. The head has a metal sleeve around it that is pinned in place. The handle is marked "TRG". The body is olive drab with a white band, with "EXERZIER" stenciled on the white band twice, 180 degrees apart.

Is this something that someone has mocked up, or is it a legitimate training item? A photo is attached below.

Thanks in advance!

To be clear, I'm assuming it is German due to the German markings, but it could very well have been made by anyone. I purchased it 25 or 30 years ago at an antique shop in New Mexico here in the US.

Here are three more photos. The first shows the metal sleeve around the head. The entire grenade is one piece of solid wood and as you can hopefully see in the photo, the head is covered with a metal sleeve.

The second photo shows a closer view of the markings on the head, as well as the pin (just below the letter I in EXERZIER) that holds the steel sleeve in place.

The third photo is a close-up of the markings on the handle.

Thanks again!

The Danes do not use the marking "Exerzier" as their spelling is way different and the ifficial danish marking is a white "E".
Inert classroom models use different markings then (don't want to look it up now as it does not matter here).
