Hi gents,
Does anyone know if the French, during the great war period, marked the larger shells (22cm, 28cm, etc) by stamping them with inspection marks, filling codes, calibre, etc, or were the shells simply painted and stencilled instead with the relevant info?.
I ask because I have a large French piece (28cm) with no stamps on it at all.
Thanks in advance for any info,
Regards!
