Newest item in the collection is this Inert/used NICO 9 bang training assault grenade with British trials/experimental markings. It has a steel body and a plastic fuze assy. It weighs a hefty 688gms. Markings in white on the blue body are : GRENADE, HAND, ASSAULT,TRAINING,SOUND XL77E1 and NICO-06.93-004. The safety lever has a 0.5 second delay label on it. It has T233 stamped into the base.
I have pictured it next o another similar on I have and have posted before. That one has an alloy body, weighs 292gms and is marked in brown : GRENADE HAND ASSAULT TRAINING SOUND XL79E2 NICO-6/99-033 and stamped T249 on the base. I find it interesting that the style, colour, and way the markings are applied are quite different between the two.
