Here is a picture of a lesser known British Army isssue smoke screening/signal grenade, L50A1. Apparently mainly issued for service in Northern Ireland. Smaller than the run of the mill signal and screening grenades, off-white smoke is emitted for between 40 and 80 seconds. It is fitted with the L124A1 fuse assy, similar to to L2 series of grenades but with a different lever, and of course this is an emission type smoke grenade and not an explosive one. I have never seen one in the flesh, anyone got a photo ? Tony.
