Here are the containers for Grenade A Pers L2A2, and Fuze, Percussion, L25A6, and a cardboard tube for Gren Hand/Rifle Practice grenades L3A2.
Usually discarded or returned for re-use (L2).

Packaging more valuable than the contents, often thrown away.

The containers are aluminium so best not to use them as bowls for cleaning crud from brass and copper. I had two halves of one once and filled one with cheap coca-cola to use it as a bath for some brass fuzes. I came back to it a few days later to find the coke had rotted through the aluminium. Lesson learned!
