Hello

does anyone know this German thing? For which projectile?

As Rigby already mentioned it is a case for the 7,5 cm LG 40 recoilless gun.
The 7,5 cm LG 40 was mainly used by the German paratroopers.
Some data of the gun:
Max. range: 6500 m
Barrel length (overall): 115 cm
V°: 345 m/sec
Weight: 207 kg
Rate of fire: 6 rds/min
Estimated lifespan of the barrel: ca. 10.000 rds.

The case has the outer dimensions of a 10,5 cm l FH 18 case. It fired the 7,5 cm Gr 38 HL/B or /C and could also fire the 7,5cm K Gr rot.

Below some images.
