Thanks for your comments on the 'allways' fuze in the downloads section. I said in the note on the No 69 grenade fuze (Fuze No 247) that it owes its origins to the work done by CSOF after WW1, in fact the origins of the fuze can be traced back even earlier to 1916 when Humphries designed his 'allways' fuze based, it is said, on a German Mortar Fuze. I have never found, with any certainty, the German fuze in question but it could loosely be the AZ16.
