I noticed this box on my travels and was given permission to photograph it. The stencilling mentions filling strips - would those be something to do with the rigid strips that held 20 or 25 rounds for the Hotchkiss CNV00149.jpgCNV00150.jpgCNV00156.jpgCNV00151.jpgCNV00152.jpgCNV00153.jpgCNV00154.jpgCNV00155.jpgmachine gun? The base is secured with steel screws but for some reason I wasn't able to add that photo.
 
Looks like a box for the strip filling machine, is that .306 or .303 either is good used in tanks and by cavalry. and must be rare - you couldn't buy it ? looks like it is being used for rubbish, certainly ww1.

It needs a bit of TLC but is in fairly sound condition, still with its leather handle. I decided to post it here so that if anyone showed real interest in it I could put you and the owner in touch (with his permission) and you could sort it between you.

Hello bryan, I still have the owner's phone number, assuming he still lives at the same address.
