i hope i am right in my assumption but wernt these guys digging up an unexploded 155 shell to make an IED to then kill unsuspecting Brit or US troops. If so, why feel sorry for them?

I remember seeing on U tube but i thought it was a maverick impact or such like from the drone, i thought the hole would have been bigger...
 
According to the commentary during the entire video these were Iraqi troops/volunteers digging up and IED
