Hungarian WW2 bomb in Budapest

The bomb is a "50kg 36/38M Rombolóbomba", a direct copy of the German SC-50B.


The fuze is the "38M mágneses gyújtó", a quite unique magnetic influence impact fuze.
Basicly, the mechanism contains two parts: one is the clockwork delayed arming switch, the other is an electro-magnetic coil, with a magnet and iron cores that generate current upon impact for the igniter. The clockwork is required to be wound with a key prior instering the fuze into the fuze-well. There are the three inspection dots on the top of the fuze around the keyhole that show the state of the fuze: black (transport position), green (wound-ready), red (armed-live). The clockwork starts arming when the safety pin is pulled out and arms in 5s.
