Can anyone ID this projectile?

The only information i have is what you see in the picture.

Is that it? Just the pic?

Is it hollow (missing fuze), solid proof shot? canister? Is it a tracer?

Gonna be a bit of a challenge with out a bit more info!

It's empty and the base is solid (no fuze, tracer, base plate etc).

I don't think it's a 7.7cm gas projectile.

The length is wrong, 7.7cm projos came in 3 lengths for gas - 242mm, 264mm and 313mm, +/- a bit for corrosion and it still isn't right.
The crimping below the driving band is wrong too.
