id shell found near Omaha beach

We can't id this shell we found in Normandy (fr), near the west side of omaha beach. We guess it's british, but not sure... this shell is very high and perharps, the upper part is missing.

diameter : 127mmm.
length : 350mm
brivebelt wide : 60mm

To me it looks like a US navy 5 inch armour piercing projectile.
