Hello
Anyone know the bofors projectile in the foreground model is?
It has MR tracer and 16 B stamped, made in France by Manurhin think.
Greetings and thanks
The closer projectile in the photo has a rotating band that is different from all of the standard 40mm L/60 Bofors projectiles. Normally all 40mm L/60 bofors projectiles have rotating bands like the yellow projectile. So yes, it appears that it might be experimental, or designed to be used in a different type of 40mm gun.
I have a couple 2 Pdr projectiles similar to your bottom projectile. I have searched everywhere for fuzes for them. British and American Bofors fuzes will not fit. I also do not know what cases to put them in. I think they are British but, British what?
There's no identifying marks other than the black projectile has a yellow band, the number "51" and the letter "T" with a halo above it.
Does anyone have a clue to what they are or what cases they belong in?
