GMH Woodville SA made 2 pdr guns (amongst numerous other items) - perhaps it's a Spares box for a 2 pdr?

Thanks chaps....yes GMH made 2pdr, 6pdr, 25pdr and 20mm AA polsten guns but it would be nice to narrow the field if possible and yes it may have nothing whatsoever to do with arty ammo etc. Cheers.... Rod

I believe it was for Polsten mags. A similar box appeared on Maple Leaf Up and that was the concensus.

Dronic,

Very close -

G M H W / S - Holden Motor Body Builders, Woodville, South Australia. Which in reality was General Motors-Holden Ltd, Holden having been taken over by GM in 1931.

Thanks gents. Tankbarrel you were on the money. After your heads up I did some more checking and came up with the attached image courtesy of the State library of South Australia etc. which labels it I reckon. One of my Mil. Heritage group turned up with the item the other day. Cheers.... Rod
