Identiication box country

Looks like Royal Navy (British) for Submarine Smoke Floats. There should be a large N burnt into one end with possibly a date and a box number.

It was packed at the Royal Navy Armaments Depot at Priddy's Hard, Portsmouth, now the "Explosion Museum of naval armaments.
