I can't unscrew it by hand, and as for weight, it's really light, well as far as grenades go, I'd say my Iphone is slightly heavier (sorry, it's the first thing I had for a comparison)

Yes Jeens definately looks like M39 WWII German egg grenade. Are we sure this one is inert esprcially if fuze wont screw out?????? Dano

Geeeez makes me cring
old WWII German grenade + non-removable fuze = bad feeling

If you look at the edge rolling around fuze adapter it's quite ugly. Originally it's usually very nice and smooth. My guess is that the adapter has been removed by opening the rolling and pressed back after removing the charge. However this absolutely has to be checked, measuring the weight gives a good indication if the grenade is empty or not.

I should think if an iphone is heavier than this grenade we can be fairly sure that it is empty?

Tony

An empty M39 complete with fuze weights approximately 115 grams. With charge possibly 100 grams more.
However, I have several times come accross inert grenades which have been filled with inert substance to correspond original weight. In my opinion this is the stupiest thing one can do.

Totaly agree mate, better to put a ball bearing or such like in it so that it rattles and proves it is empty

The best thing to do is to call the appropriate authorities if you are in any way unsure of the gren.
Its not worth the risk for something so small.
