Here is the mother of all bomb fuzes. It is a massive 53cm (nearly 21 inches) high including reach rod. The allied designation was B-2(a) but was known but the Japanese as Type 99 Number 25 Bomb Tail Arming Mechanism.
It was used with the Type 99 Number 25 S.A.P 250 Kg IJN Bombs.
It is a Mechanical Impact Tail Bomb Fuze and was used in conjunction with the following nose fuzes: A-3(a), A-3(b) & A-3(d).
There are a few variations that can be found with material used in construction of fuze body ranging from unplated steel to zinc plated steel and and locking ring made of brass. There is also another variation where the body shoulders are straight rather than sloping. This is used on the Type 2 Number 50 Ordinary 500 Kg Bomb.
