Is this a German 75/50 anti tank penetrator?

Good Evening: I recently purchased a somewhat strange item I cannot identify, but I believe it to be a projectile from a German 75/50 anti tank round. This object is 6.75 inches long, 47.8 mm in diameter and, get this, weighs 8 pounds! It is one of the heaviest objects for its size that I have ever lifted. It has no markings whatsoever. It does draw a magnet. I recently saw a picture in Ian Hogg's book "The Illlustrated Encyclopedia of Ammunition" on page 238, middle picture, that shows a bullet shaped sub munition inside another shell. It looks exactly like that, but I wanted to be sure. Sorry I can't upload a pic right now, but will do so in the future if this mystery continues. Thanks ladies and gentlemen.

Hi, its probably the core from an apds or apcr round.
Its much too big for a 75/50 German taper bore projectile.
The attached photos show the core cavity on the German 75/50 complete with measurement.
Look forward to seeing the photo of the core you have.
Thanks.
Dave.
