It is for a V2 (as said) or for a french ww2 FATO shell (ballistic cap) ????

Hello

I see this item sold on internet here :

as WW2 German V2 Rocket Nose Fuze Cone V2

But for me, it could be the ballistic cap for the french ww2 artillery shell (FATO).

Have you an idea ?

Thank you

I reported it as being incorrect and likely from a French 155 mm artillery projectile. Probably from a Fonte Aciérée et Fausse Ogive (F.A.T.O.) modèle 1918 projectile.

If this is from the old EODIC Museum at DEODS Chattenden it is indeed a V2 fused as uts boxed with its instructions!

Ok got the pics mixed up, the IWM is definitely the V2 fuse from DEODS...no use on the auction one!

Here a picture and drawing of the French 155 mm HE shell FATO: Obus de 155 mm explosifen fonte aciérée modèle 1918 à coiffe balistique.
