Item supposed to be a part of a munition

Happy new year everybody.

The item below is supposed to be a part of a munition, but I have no clue. It was found a few days ago by construction workers digging near BESANCON (FRANCE). Size is approx 20cm long. Diameter of left extremity is about 3cm, diameter of the central part is about 2cm. Don't ask for more pictures, that's all I have.

Maybe it's not munition related...
