Japanese incendiary pellets

Just going through some of the pics i took in N.T.,Australia, a couple of years ago.
I was being shown around an abandoned WW2 Airfield that was subjected to Japanese bombing. The custodian of the site had excavated one of the craters and found many incendiary pellets, basically 2" long, 1" or 2" water pipe filled with phosphorus.
He seemed a bit shocked when i told him some could still be active as it crusts over!

Not the best pics but hopefully they show the story.
