Japanese Projectile PDFs

BOUGAINVILLE

Well-Known Member
Hi all,

Have just uploaded to the download section two very interesting WWII manuals. Volumes one and two of JAPANESE PROJECTILES, produced by the US Pacific Fleet in April 1945.

Both volumes are compiled solely from information obtained from captured Japanese documentation and hence covers some projectiles, grenades etc that haven't been touched on by other allied publications.

I highly recommend both volumes as an addition to any serious reference collection concerning Japanese Ordnance.

Now you all know how I spent some of my holidays while marooned on a wee extinct volcanic island along the coast of central Bougainville.

Happy downloading,
Cheers,
Robert

Hi Robert,

Excellent result on what I find is a tedious job of scanning. My library just got bigger!.
Interesting(and helpful) that the measurements are in Metric, unusual for a US publication.
Look forward to your pics from your explorations too. ;)

cheers
Bob

The only US input into this documentation was the translation into English from captured documents and manuals. Hence the metric measurements and not imperial.

This is what makes this set of two volumes stand out from other US publications is that it is purely raw Japanese data which has been translated.

Thanks everybody for your appreciation. As I get the time more will follow.

Cheers,
Robert

Great Job!

I don't know how you do it - I'm bored waiting for a single photocopy to print these days, let alone spending hours scanning............................................

I tend to focus on the end result so that sort of gives me the ability to overcome the boredom of the repetitiveness. 2 to 3 hour stints at a time is enough for me.

Thank you for your effort. I'm using this again today as a field reference in Saipan.
