My father fought in WW II and was on Iwo Jima - the storey goes he had just finished clearing a cave and went in to check it out. Setting on a small table next to some documents, etc was a small hand sculptured head or a Japanese women. Dad has since past away, but one of his wishes was to sell all his WW II stuff when the granddaughter was ready to go to college. This piece is the last of the Japan era stuff, so if anyone is interested it is for sale. Dad was sent one after being wounded and served as a guard at Rock Island Arsenal, guarding Italian POWs who were working in the machine shops there. He took from them a knife made of AL that has a double dagger edge and a necked woman for the handle. It was not made a weapon rather just something to do and make. If interested I'll send you a pick of it later.
