L1A1 Practice Grenade

Question. I know that MECAR made the L1A1 for the UK. However, I have noticed on these grenades I see the same MECAR symbol, but with an S added.

Does anyone know what that means?

the complete name for Mecar is "Sociéte anonyme Belge de MECanique et d'ARmement, Nijvel, Belgium" so could it be the extra "S" is just the export-logo (read as SA-MA?)?
