1915, France. All able bodied men are at the front. The only people left behind are women, children and old men. A large farm must survive and produce under difficult war time labour shortages. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt6213362/. Meticulously arranged and filmed, it shows a different type of suffering, not as intense as battlefield but still soul wrenching. Men come home on leave bringing war stories different from the newspaper accounts. Probably a cinematographic masterpiece. And kudos to the colour coordinators and wardrobe people.
