Line Cannon

I'm a member of a local historical arms society and one of our members brought in this American line cannon. He said they were used up to WWII and beyond. I think this smoothbore 2.5 inch black powder cannon is cool.

That is a neat cannon. And in great shape too. Most of them were used at Coast Guard stations, lighthouses, and similar coast facilities and suffered the ravages of the salt water environment. Seldom seen in that condition.

Concur that that's cool. Very pricey little buggers when they come up on auction.
