Looking to Gaine some insight...

I bought this under the impression it was the correct gaine for my 8.8cm L/45 HE shell, but when I looked in the interior I saw another collar inside. So what do I have here? Does what I bought come apart into two pieces?

The shell you have is the type with the baseplug, which has a fixed collar. The gaine you bought is for the cast steel (=Stahlguss) and the pressed steel (=Pr zugz) shell types with the solid base.
