I have a M104 Mk1 ammo box by AMC its dated 1945. I am looking to repaint it in brown with all markings, would anybody have any pictures showing the exterior markings.
Many thanks.
Box Steel M104 became a package dedicated entirely to Thunderflash Mk8.
So much so that because Thunderflashes are so light, there must have been a production dispensation to manufacture the package of such thin gauge metal. I never saw a flimsier metal package than this. It was probably granted because the Thunderflash Mk 8 had no operational role and was produced in the thousands for training.
The package I show is for ROF Swynnerton production and some were made by SPRA but the vast majority were produced by Haley and Weller (HW).
Do not mark it for Thunderflashes Mk 8 because they were not produced until 1946.
