M124 practice bombs and something else

Hello,

I am new to this page and would like to post some pics of some things I just picked up, and hopefully pick all your brains for some info on them.

I picked up some of what I believe are M124 Practice bombs with some homemade fins and noses on them. I believe that they are suppose to have the tail fin assembly M140 on them. If anyone here knows any more info about them It would be greatly appreciated.

I am looking on any Info on these bombs or a place to purchase the proper tail fins for them or any other parts.




I also got a hold of this baby in its original shipping crate.



It was to big to bring home with me at the time I bought it but it is being picked up by a friend for me and I should get it soon.

All I know about it is that it is roughly 12ft long. Any Info on this would be great help. When I get it in my possession I will get you all more info.

Hard to tell from the picture, but the second item looks like the standard 1000lb practice, I think it was sand filled?

Two pics that had my interest, they were on my buy list till I ran out of money. I was in contact with the seller of the WW 2 black 250 lb practice bomb ( appears to be like yours) he state fins are extremely rare, next to impossible to find....the other, the 1000 lb practice bomb ( Mk 89 if I recall) is still sitting in a farmers field near Anniston, to large to meet my interest, instead I have this 1971 dated MK 87 500 pounder that I can haul in my vehicle ( 91 inches long, 140 pounds) to the airshows and CAF events. Research the MK 89 or 1000 pounder US Navy practice bomb dimensions for answers on your 12 footer, I will in spare time.....

Thanks guys for all the help so far. Still waiting on receiving the big one but from what you all have been saying I believe it is the 1000lb. It has 2 fill ports like the one in the picture.
