Hi, I'm looking for documentation, information and schematic's on the development of the M217 impact fuze.
Whilst there is quite a bit of information available on BOCN and the Internet in general, a lot of it appears to be contradictory.
If you have any documentation (especially engineering drawings) please add then to this post or drop me a pm.
I'd also like to know which company's did the development work, production numbers, years of manufacture.....
Basically, if you have any info on these fuzes please add it it to this post. Also of interest is the development of the levers. I'm aware that some of the red levers had IMPACT stencilled on them and some didn't. This appears to be dependant on manufacturer rather than the date of manufacture - it would be good to see some examples, as there are not too many examples available on the net.
Here's one of my impact fuzes. I'm told it come from the early development phase, rather than from general production. It looks possible, as the top section that houses the battery is narrower that other examples I've seen ( ~11mm). The lever is unmarked.
I look forward to seeing other examples.
Cheers
