M80 M51 Question

The M51 projectiles shown here are as I have been told shortened to be used in the M4 37mm Auto Cannon in the Airacobra. They are the same length as the M80 AP shot. A recent example has the remains of an Aluminium cap as does a fired example. The one on the M80 page does not, but might have had and now gone. I can not find any reference to a M51 AP shot, All I can find is the M74 AP shot (uncapped), M59 APC, M51B1 & M51B2, M51A2 - flat ended practice. My references are not that good on this subject- Does any one have further information.
