I am looking for information on a couple of codes found on some projectiles:

FE
EDR
EPS

Does anyone have anything on these? I don't have any pictures just the codes.

Joe

Hello Joe,

I think without a relation to a specific projectile and country it is not possible to identify them for sure. There are to many countries which were using three letter codes.

I was told they are Spanish. 105-MM Illum and 60-MM mortar Illum. The FE was stamped in the 105.

Joe

I think this are french codes.
The only manufacturer for 60mm mortar shells in Spain are "Esperanza y Cia." (ECIA) and for 105mm the "Empresa Nacional Santa Barbara" (1961-2001 code SB), "Santa Barbara Systems" (2001-2013 code SB) and from 2013 NAMMO code SB.
I found two of this codes in list of french manufacters from 2006.
EDR - STE EDRASTOP, PARIS
FE - ACIERIES ET FORGES DE SAINT-FRANCOIS, SAINT-ETIENNE (LOIRE)

Ok ... so these codes come off of EXPAL made training items. I dint think the FE is Spanish. The others might be though.
