Manufacturing dates for US Frags

Fragman

Hi. There has been so much information coming to light lately about the production dates for various US made frags that I thought I’d try and capture it in a timeline for easy reference. I am only focusing on hand thrown frag grenades made by the US(to make it easier). I am not going to try and attempt to capture when they were used, as some are likely to have been around for many years until existing stocks run out. I’ve had to guess with many of the production dates (especially during the Vietnam war), so please let me know what dates need to be amended and which grenades should be added. I've stopped with the M67, as it's still in service. I will update the timeline as information comes to hand. Cheers

Fragman, really nice work. Your chart is clear and easy to read. Thanks for the great reference material. I did not realize my 2 grey MKII's with cut-back fuzes were so old. I am learning alot and just starting a collection and this info will be invaluable.

Hi. Thanks for the comments. I might try a British one after Ive got this one right, but theres still a lot more information needed to make the US timeline accurate. Ive just seen a red levered M217 Impact fuze dated 1962. At that time I think it could only have been used with an M26A2. If they were making M26A2s back in 1962, then it stands to reason they were making M26A1s before that. Has anyone got a US grenade manual dated 1962? Cheers
