A Wyndham Hewitt plant, part of Dawnay Day & Co. Ltd - hence the DD monogram. Wyndham Hewitt was an engineering company that had formed from a merger of Lanchester Motors and a company called Close Brothers in 1936. It had operations in Leeds, Sheffield, and Wigan.
