mills 36 box

I have a box (G 36) for Drill grenades made in 1940 and was wondering what the 12 holes were for that are partially drilled through the side of the box (6 each side). Also does anyone have the dimensions for the triangular packers that came with the box ?
Thanks in anticipation

Hi there Hangarman,

i suspect they were for the threads of the gas checks as the box would hade contained 12 along with the grens, I also believe the packers were the same size as the 4 central separators but cut in half.
Hope this helps,

Andy

Hi, Hope this photo helps. It shows the gas check disks in place. Unfortunately the box is now in storage, so I can't meassure the spacers. Cheers

Box G36

The loose triangular cross section packing pieces are 3.25-in long with sides 1-inch x 1-inch x h (you can work this bit out). See drg. If you want more of the drg PM me with your email address (its too big to post here).
