Mills 36 Training Mk II

Came across these two bodies. They are stencil marked on both side as Mk II. Both date from 1944 though the paintwork could be post war.

The shoulders have the extra hole drilled in them to take a retaining pin.

Never seen that stencil before and I don't think it's covered in the Lander's Book.

DSCN1992.jpgVery nice John, I have 2 of these which I have had for many years. Should have brought at least 1 to show you when we used to lunch in Tenterden. Both have the extra pin but in different styles and neither have any markings. Dont think they are that common.I have seen pictures of other No 36 Drill MK 11 Grens, none of which were marked in any way so that is unusual and I wonder if that was a later addition as you suggested,

Andy.

I've had a number of white drill 36s but only one with the additional hole in the shoulders before seeing these two.
