Mills grenade pull rings

My examples of grenades are using modern keyring type rings as a 'make do'but Where can the correct type of ring be found?:S . I do understand the availability of original 1914-18 rings for my N05 Mk1 are about as rare as rocking horse poo:lol: but is there a modern equivalent available out there?.

Better late than never I guess...

Anyone requiring Mill bomb pins (these are the welded ring with a cotter pin), in very good condition, let me know via PM and I'll put you in touch with the bloke who has all of our surplus ones as well as some Mills levers in remarkably good condition.

Hi Corblimy,
not all Mills grens used a welded ring, not even all WW2 bombs and certainly not WW1 grens. A mate of mine recently came across a WW2 36 box in an antique shop which contained all the levers, strikers, springs, split pins and rings. The box was dated 1940 and the rings were all of the 'keyring' type you mentioned and were all original to the grens which the EOD had recently destroyed. There are some original 14/18 pins available on ebay at the moment and some WW1 types on Specialistauctions.com.
However, be aware that WW2 36 pins will not fit WW1 No5s, 23s and most 36s.
