Mills No.36 Mk II 1942

I was lucky enough to acquire this from a friend over the weekend and it will stay in my collection as a keeper.

Looks like a REVO body with an SEG base plug dated 9/42.

It also has the rare Mk II gas check fitted.

Here is the No 36 Mark 11, Practice, and the base plate appropriate,
Sorry about rather poor quality of base plate pic - I am the world's worst photographer.
Plate is stamped M G M LTD, and 11, and /42
And here the service grenade; the plate is stamped in identical fashion.

As Alan1 hints at in his post, an SEG-made MkII base plug on a service No.36 is somewhat incongruous. The exception is the use of South African MkII pattern base plugs on South African manufactured service No.36s, which began as a quirk of supply necessity.
