Here is a real DUMMY grenade question. This MKI dummy obviously has a facsimile of the WWI U.S. swivel grenade handle. The body had the 5 row segment MKII style body Why?? I will disregard the 4 segment dummy made by that sporting goods company as that was part of a sporting game and not military related. First I can't even phathom why the swivel type handls on a 5 row segment body, and why were they made in this configuration for so long. I know of this swivel handle 5 segment grenade being made into at least the early 50's. Was there that big of a surplus stock on them. Was re tooling to expensive to justify the means. In the 50's we saw a more conventional looking dummy thrower with a more realistic to the times fake handle on it. Does anyone have close to exact years of manufacture of the swivel handle dummy. I'm sure more of you than not would rather blow buggers at this thread than read/participate in it!! Don't get me wrong the swivel handle, 5 segment row grenade is a classic and has a place in any MKI/MKII collection and face the grenade is just not valuable or popular enough to warrant any close study. Most collections have one, not due to their beauty (or lack there of) and every collection needs one (same as later "KOREA" one piece casting). I doubt there would be a difinitive answer as little to no attention has been paid and they are as common as cheap perfume in a house of ill repute. Anybody know anything..........Dano
