Mki

Enclosed are pictures of a very nice early US MKI grenade. At first I thought the markings on the body were castor marks but after taking a closer look I realised they are engraved. Years ago I saw a captured German G98 with markings like this so I'm thinking it's a US unit mark. If anyone has some info on it please let me know. The marks are a 12 with a F in the middle of the triangle.
Thanks

this is a factory mark, ive seen one with an L inside a diamond which was the Littlestown Foundry Pennsylvania. not sure about the R though.
cheers, Paul.

F is the manufacturer(s) mark (Not sure who). Here are examples of MK1 Bodies that I have with F and numbers 3, 6 & 10.

Stay safe,

Frank
