G'day all,
First time post...and probably an interesting one. I have been made aware of a 2 world war one MLE 1917 "egg" grenades. One has the shipping plug in place, however the plug has sheared half way down and the contents are still inside...it feels like there is a "solid" lump of powder internally if it is disturbed...no det, so it's ok temporarily.
The second unit I am not so sure on...it is again an MLE 1917, however it had a 5 second fuse assembly in it. Now i have defused the grenade, but I can not ascertain with any certainty if it is an inert fuse or a partially defused det. The owner states he was assured they are both inert...I have a military demolitions background, and am not so sure.
Any information would be greatly appreciated. I have rendered all items as safe as possible until I get more info.
Cheers
Bairdy
Yes they are all in immaculate condition!
