Hi Guys, here we have a couple of modern British experimental grenades. The first one is a 40mm practice LV round for the UGL. It is a thick alloy body with a screw on lid and plastic top cap. Markings as per pics, note the 'XL' designation and purple stripe, both denoting an experimental item.
The third pics shows two British issue, German made practice stun/distraction grenades. The left hand one is marked : grenade hand assault training sound Xl79E2. this is the exp. version. The one on the right is marked : training 9 bang delay 0.5 s and is dated 04/02-01. The practice/training grenades of this series only contain the bangs and not the flashes, presumably as not to temporarily blind the user ! any further info welcome, Tony.
