movie review Flyboys

I watched a pretty good movie today called Flyboys. It is the story of the Layfayette Escadrille Squadron in WW1. I'll not go into all the details but this is a good flick. Authentic props, right down to the M1892 Lebel revolvers given to the pilots to shoot themselves should their aeroplanes catch fire. Based on a true story though "Hollywoodized" and sensationalized as in these aircraft made moves not capable at the time. But the movie is great. 2 thumbs up...Dano

Sadly, the animation was poorly done, as every German was the red barron, and the speed of the aircraft was badly exagerated, but there was a remake recently It looks like they got it right this time, and it should be a good movie. It looks like most of the flying i s real, and they do not pretend to set it during WWI. I do not think there is a love story in this version either, just two boys trying to survive in the air. And the changed the name to The Fly Boys
