Mrner Handgrenade

I wonder does anyone here have Mrner type handgrenade on their collection?

I dont even know what country originally produced Mrner grenades.

I would like to see one example,Finnish Army used this type grenades in WW2 and only evidence i have seen about this grenade is black/white picture in Finnish Ordnance Manual.

Bofors (Sewden) made the ones submitted to the UK. The hand grenade is covered by Brit Patent 431608 and UK interest was between 1937 and 1939. No example I regret to say.

I have a drill version made from wood with steel rings and painted green and white. I was told it was Norwegian when I acquired it. It's not handy at the moment but I can add photos of it in a day or so.

I also got this wooden training nade which i belief is a training nades for the Mrner. It is said it was used in Norway but I don’t have or seen any documentation which confirms that but they are often seen for sale in Norwegian auction pages.

The grenade was created from the swedish inventor Goran Morner as private venture and covered by a Swiss International Patent in 1934-35. The granade was tested from many countries and armies. It was sure adopted by swedish army as "Spranghandgranat M40" (Bofors production), coloured black with different colour bands, and by Norvegian (green coloured for the drill). Also in Italy was proposted from the private "CEMSA", but not adopted because preferred the SRCM35.

Finally found my practice grenade to take a picture. It's similar to Rune's grenade but that one seems to be all wood. This one has a wooden center but all the exterior surfaces except the small protrusion at the top are painted steel. I would also like to learn more about Norway's use of this grenade. Rick

DSC_0221 (2).jpgHere is my collection of mrner grenades. The yellow band indicates HE filling, blue is practice and green with white band is drill.
The chromeplated grenade is an early instructional and number 2&3 from the left is experimental.
